Race 1 – we have Malibu Style who is potentially a really good galloper. He will make open company in the future.
The 1000m will be probably a bit short for him as there are some speedy types however the barrier draw persuaded me to run him here.
I think he has the ability to offset the negative.
Race 3 – we have the two entrants in Via Laurentina and Almachino. Via Laurentina has had her issues since her good 3yo year running second in the Champion Fillies and Burgess Queen.
We are winning the battle but depending on the conditions in the morning will decide if she starts.
She worked in her best form on Tuesday so she is primed but not really a wet tracker.
Almachino is working towards a win but in her closing preparation before a stud career. She ran well last start and has held that form. She is up in weight but down in class and expect a bold showing.
Race 6 is the Sires Produce Stakes and we have two runners. Light Up the Sky has been in good form in the whole campaign and her last start should not be looked at in the finishing position.
Brad was adamant that had she not received a good bump at about the 600m mark in the Karrakatta from a tiring horse she would have finished second. She has held her form and expect a good run at a distance that will be to her advantage.
Secret Doubt has good potential but has struggled in the 1000m sprints. She will be a nice 3yo and thought from a good ally she could run well at odds. The distance is her advantage.
Race 8 – we have Clumsy engaged and by that race the track may be getting a little chopped out on the inner pad with the weather we have had. Initially I thought from that gate it will be hard for her but the conditions may work for her. She’s holding form and will again give a good sight as she normally does.
